A selection of resources are available to support advocacy activities aimed at fostering diabetes education in schools. These include step-by-step guidance and supporting data to be an effective advocate for the KiDS programme.

The KiDS Advocacy Toolkit provides information and tips to help advocates encourage local or national decision-makers to bring diabetes education into schools.

KiDS advocacy toolkit cover

The toolkit is aimed at anyone interested in diabetes, education, health and/or the school environment. These include children and adults living with diabetes; parents, carers and guardians of children with diabetes; local and national diabetes associations; civil society organisations working in education, health and/or human rights; school students, staff and relevant school bodies; healthcare professionals.

Our KiDS leaflet provides an introduction to the programme, what it has accomplished since it was started in 2013 and the resources available to support diabetes awareness sessions in schools.
