Supporting a safe and supportive school environment for people with diabetes and those at risk.

Diabetes education delivered through KiDS increases understanding of how to manage diabetes and how to delay or prevent type 2 diabetes, while tackling stigma and establishing habits to build a healthy future for the next generation.

Global impact of KiDS

Since its first successful pilot in Brazil and India in 2013, KiDS has been implemented around the globe.

27,000 teachers

have received training to deliver diabetes education.

687,000 children

and adolescents have received diabetes education at school.

20 languages

KiDS resources have been widely translated to facilitate local implementation.

The KiDS programme is currently operating or has been delivered at regional or national level in 21 countries.

KiDS is an IDF programme undertaken in partnership with the International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and supported by an educational grant from Sanofi.
