The aim of the Kids and Diabetes in Schools (KiDS) programme is to bring diabetes education to schools to fight diabetes-related stigma and promote healthy lifestyles to tackle the preventable risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
Our vision is that schools are free from diabetes stigma and equipped to support diabetes care and promote prevention.
The goals of the programme are to:
- Encourage policies that foster an inclusive school environment free from diabetes-related stigma.
- Inspire the adoption of healthy habits from an early age.
Established in 2013, KiDS is an International Diabetes Federation (IDF) programme undertaken in partnership with the International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and supported by an educational grant from Sanofi.
